2011 Alaska A Hike a Day

After a day of rest, the MABarry-Lounge Lizard Hiking/Biking/Rock Climbing team was at it again!  This time they chose a less strenuous trail.  Trouble was, it was still too strenuous a trail for me.  (aren't they all!!)  Away they went and I decided to catch up on my picture editing. (and yes, I do edit out the many bad pix before I send them to you!)  They were back with tails of the trails.  As they were hiking up the trail, they encountered...a man with a pistol on his belt!  After a little conversation, they found out that this was an agent, or ranger, or some form of authority incognito.  He was looking for a man last seen in the vicinity.  Kind of a bad dude.  Other then that it was a fairly quiet trail!  When they were back and rested, we took a stroll out to the docks area.  We had a restful afternoon and evening!

The town is beginning to fill up for the fourth of July festivities.  A town of usually 3500 people, it's looking to host 45,000.  It's a very festive atmosphere here, happy crowds, lots of children, grandparents, aunts, uncles - they're all here! They have to have the fireworks display at Midnight because it's too light to be able to see them before then!  Really different stuff up here.

At happy hour tonight we decided to hike a path I could join in on, so our big plans are to light out at 10 tomorrow.  I'll be ready!

That's about it from the MABarry - over and out!
